Dr Harshani Meegama is a dedicated General Practitioner at our clinic. Her focus in medicine is centred on building strong rapport with her patients to help them achieve optimal health outcomes that would impact their lives in a positive way.
Dr Meegama completed her medical degree at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2008. Her broad range of medical knowledge in many different specialties of medicine stems from her past medical experiences working in Sri Lanka.Before migrating to Australia, she performed her duties as a medical officer for more than 8 years in leading tertiary care hospitals in Sri Lanka. Dr Meegama worked at Teaching Hospital Kurunegala in General Medicine, Gynaecology and Obstetrics and then she worked as a Senior Medical Officer in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Colombo South Teaching Hospital for more than 5 years.
In addition to her hospital duties, Dr Meegama worked as a General Practitioner for more than 5 years in Sri Lanka.After obtaining the Australian Medical Council certificate, she worked as a Resident Medical Officer at Blacktown Hospital. However, her passion towards working as a GP led her to select the GP pathway as her career.
Dr Meegama enjoys all aspects of general practice including general medicine, women’s health, diabetes and endocrinology, elderly care and paediatrics.
Dr Meegama can speak English and Sinhalese. She works as a full time GP at our clinic.
