Dr. Hemantha Sudasinghe is a broadly experienced doctor who has been in medical practice for over 25 years. He completed his Medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka and gained nearly nine years of experience in a variety of hospitals in different specialties in Sri Lanka. He then chose to specialize in the surgical field, gaining experience and training in variety of surgical fields including General, Orthopaedic, Genitourinary, vascular, cardiothoracic, neuro surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery. Part of his training was done in Monash Health in Victoria, Australia.
Following his specialist training, he obtained MD (Surgery) degree from University of Colombo and MRCP from the Royal College of Surgeons of England as post-graduate specialist qualifications.
After training, he served as a Specialist in General Surgery for more than 10 years for the Ministry of Health in Sri Lanka.
At present, Dr. Sudasinghe holds specialist registration to practice in Sri Lanka (SLMC) and England (GMC), in addition to the registration to practice medicine in Australia.
Dr. Sudasinghe also has vast experience as a General Practitioner from 1996 to 2023 in Sri Lanka. His fascination in the variety and challenges found in all areas of General Practice influenced him to dedicate his carrier for full-time General Practice in Australia.
He enjoys all aspects of General Practice but has a special interest in General Surgery, Breast Pathology, Mental Health, General Medicine, Elderly Care and Preventative Health.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Sudasinghe loves following sports, especially cricket and music
He is a full-time GP at our clinic and speaks English and Sinhalese.
